The juwi Group of Wörrstadt, Germany received the Clean Tech Media Award this evening in Berlin. The renewable energy project development company triumphed in the “Sustainability” category, receiving the prestigious prize for its company headquarters, the most energy-efficient office building in the world. juwi CEO Matthias Willenbacher accepted the coveted honor at a gala event at the Berlin ewerk before some 600 invited guests.
“The juwi Group is setting new standards with its company headquarters. Together with GriffnerHaus AG, the leading project developer has built the world’s most energy-efficient building in the form of its timber construction-style company headquarters in Wörrstadt. The design and construction of the building are not only the realization of a comprehensive, sustainable climate protection concept but also proof that the vision of 100 percent renewable energy supply is already feasible today,” stated the high-caliber jury. “We are proud and happy about the award. It shows that we are on the right road. The future belongs to renewable energies – and we are playing a major part in shaping that future,” said juwi CEO Willenbacher.
Environmental technology is one of the key technologies of tomorrow. Before this backdrop, the Clean Media Tech Award rewards innovative ideas and projects from the world of environmental technology that take on the global challenges of the future, like climate change and rising energy consumption, in an enterprising, creative way. A total of twelve companies, media projects and researchers were nominated by the high-caliber jury in four categories: Technology, Sustainability, Culture and Media and Young Scientists. The Clean Tech Media Award is Germany’s most innovative environmental prize .
